I had a tougher time with this one. I used my original sketch (from two years ago? Man, time flies!), then I inked and inked and inked (digitally). I tried many different methods in Manga Studio ranging from vector drawing, hand-inking, etc. but finally settled on using this workflow:
- Draw arcs with tapered ends, starting with thick outlines, then work inside with thinner lines
- Hand paint tangents and clean up any other major issues
- Strengthen the thin and thick strokes based on light source
- Smooth and continue polishing
There are some issues with the inking details still, but this process has been a great learning experience.
